Astro’s Playroom: Beginner’s Guide

You don’t usually see this kind of charm and polish in the genre unless it has Mario’s name attached to it. Granted, Astro isn’t as acrobatic as our favorite Italian plumber. He has a simple move set consisting of a jump, a hover, and some punches. But Astro’s Playroom never feels dull for a second thanks to its unbounded creativity.

Astro’s Playroom

A DLC game in which the player controls a ninja AR Bot, evading traps and firing shuriken. The Ninja Bots DLC was released on 13 March 2014 and supports up to four players. The alien buddy is a deformable toy with which the player can interact. Locations and characters are very detailed and nicely animated. It is worth noting that the game is maintained in a very colorful artistic style, which may appeal to both older and younger players.

Entertainment

In the first mud pit in Gusty Gateway, look in the right-hand corner for a skeleton swinging a sword around with a distinctive shield. The shield reveals that this is a reference to 1998’s MediEvil on PS1 by SCE Cambridge, about the knight Sir Daniel Fortesque being brought back to life so he can live up to his own falsified legacy. Holding the square for a long while will charge a special rotating attack.

Run Astro Run!

In the PlayStation Labo area, the wall skirting just above the floor contain references to various PlayStation hardware ports. In the picture above, you can spot the PSP, PS Vita and PSP Go port and button layouts from the top and bottom of the systems. The only unknown one is the one with the Ethernet port, which doesn’t match any PlayStation system. On https://f168.direct/ of the monitors in the Labo area is an image of a CD-ROM and a DVD.

PlayStation made a name for itself with exclusive titles, and titles like Helldivers 2 and Returnal show off the PS5’s tech. This is also true for the sounds that come from the DualSense. Such as Astro’s feet grating against the ice while he skates, the wind blowing in Memory Meadows or the coin collection sound effect.
