Of all the enemies that Peter Parker and Miles Morales face in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, few are as terrifying and relentless as Venom. Powered by an extraterrestrial symbiote, the villain threatens all of Marvel’s New York over the course of the game and pushes the Spider-Men to the very limit. The fight with Venom is especially personal for Peter, both through his own experiences with the symbiote and whom the symbiote has since bonded with, delivering his greatest challenge as a hero.

Release

This guide was specially crafted for the PS5 version of Spider-Man 2 and also applies to the 2025 PC version. When Marvel’s Spider-Man hit the stores in 2018, many critics thought it was the best rendition Insomniac Games could ever give to the wall-crawling-friendly neighborhood superhero. Now that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out, though, those sentiments are beginning to possibly change, depending, of course, on your outlook on the gradually booming franchise.

There is another add-on that players can purchase for extra benefits. Other than that, there are the game’s pre-order benefits, even though the game is not yet available for pre-order. However, its debut will be very similar to its Playstation 5 version. 2025 kicks off with highly anticipated PC ports, the return of Donkey Kong, and at least one hidden-object game with cats.

Storyline

Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to be all about the Green Goblin and a returning Doc Ock. They are two of the greatest Spider-Man villains, but they’ll need a good supporting cast to back them up. Or else they’ll have to rely on characters like Big Wheel and Big Man. Not only did they come back, but they’re actively worse this time around. Meaning both elite-level world class hunters and alien monsters that two superpowered Spider-Men struggle against are done in by a reporter with a stun gun. Kraven the Hunter is the main villain for most of Spider-Man 2 and he isn’t anywhere near interesting or dynamic enough to be in that role.

Developer Insomniac Games confirmed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be the latest entry in the series to be making its way to PC all the way back in October 2024, but has remained oddly quiet on the topic ever since. The first game laid the groundwork for how fun swinging as Spider-Man can be. So make sure your reaction time is sharp before you don the super suit. Two missions later, players are treated to the most odd, but also the most heartwarming boss fight of the game, as Mary Jane becomes consumed by the Symbiote and tries to take down Peter. Peter wins the fight as MJ becomes herself again before vowing to help Peter and Miles take down Venom.

The Apunkalyptic Suit is a unique design by Jerad Marantz specifically for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. AF88 is based off of the Legacy comic run where Aaron Davis (The Prowler) wore an iteration of the Iron Spider suit and led The Sinister Six. The Upgraded Suit is what Miles will begin the game with, and is an original design by Insomniac.

On your way to 100% district completion you will unlock all collectible trophies automatically. For players with high-performance PCs, High, Very High, and Ultimate Ray Tracing options are available to more finely tune their experience. With these settings, players can use higher-quality raytracing meshes and use the raytracing object range slider to make adjustments. Meanwhile, classic series nemesis Kraven brings mercenaries to the city to seek out previously-captured villains (like Scorpion and Vulture) as worthy prey for their boss, the world’s best hunter. The Spider-Bot will be crawling near the top of the South-Eastern wall. The Spider-Ham Spider-Bot is found close to the Eastern corner of the Financial District. As Peter and Miles attempt to stop Venom, Peter is debilitated by a trace amount of the symbiote still within him. After Miles settles his differences with Li, the latter uses his powers to convert Peter’s symbiote traces into the Anti-Venom symbiote, which can destroy other symbiotes. Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York.

Head for Avengers Tower (the tall skyscraper with the red A on it), then check the buildings just West of it. The Spider-Bot will be here on the North face of one of the brick buildings. This Spider-Bot, Spider-Punk, is found high up a skyscraper in the North-East corner of the district. Here you’ll find a park area between the two roads, with a building in the middle with a columned structure on top. The Spider-Bot will be crawling on the Western side of this building among the columns. The Flipside Spider-Bot can be found in the North-West corner of Greenwich.

Patch 7 fixes a crash that could occur when minimizing the game application. Delilah was originally intended to debut in Across the Spider-Verse, however she ultimately never appears in the movie. Her presence in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 seems to be setting up her appearance in the third movie, Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Traversing New York City feels more exhilarating in the sequel, thanks to introducing the new web wings that make getting around easier and more fun. You can’t help feeling that traversal is faster in the sequel, too, partially due to the web wings. Slinging webs will never get boring, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to switch things up now and then. One thing is clear upon comparing Marvel’s Spider-Man to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
